How One Young Lawyer Learned to Believe in Her Body Again

When Srividya first reached out to me, she wasn’t just looking for a trainer. In her early 20s, freshly transitioned from law school to life as a lawyer, she was carrying the weight of years of self-doubt. She never loved her body, her skin, her hair—anything about herself. She struggled with body image, chronic knee pain from chondromalacia patella, and hormonal health challenges like PCOD and PCOS that disrupted her confidence and made her feel disconnected from her own body.

Even walking into her first session felt overwhelming. She wasn’t sure if this would work. She wasn’t sure if she could work. But somewhere, beneath all the uncertainty, there was a quiet hope that maybe this time would be different.

A Different Kind of Coaching

From the very first day, I knew this wasn’t only about helping her get fitter—it was about helping her heal her mindset. She didn’t believe she was strong. She didn’t think she deserved to feel good in her own skin. She worried her knee condition would keep her from ever lifting confidently.

I promised her that together, we would prove all of those fears wrong. We built a program that respected her limitations and her food sensitivities. We adapted every workout to protect her knees and still challenge her muscles. We planned nutrition that worked with her health history, not against it. And then something remarkable happened.

When Health Becomes the Real Transformation

For months, Srividya had struggled with irregular periods and was relying on medication and constant doctor visits to manage her cycle. But just one month into training, she got her period naturally—without pills, without stress.

Her mother was so overjoyed she called me personally to share her gratitude. She told me how much hope it gave her to see her daughter finally feeling healthier and happier. She even decided to bring Srividya’s sister in for training after seeing what a difference this journey was already making.

That call is something I will never forget. Because this is what real coaching is about—helping someone reclaim trust in their body and feel proud of what it can do.

From Fear to Empowerment

Over six months, Srividya’s confidence grew in ways no number on the scale could measure. She learned to love her reflection in the mirror. She discovered that strength doesn’t look the same for everyone—and that her version was just as worthy.

She started showing up fully as herself, not just in the gym but in her life. She even did a photo shoot for her gym—a moment that felt worlds away from the girl who once hid behind layers of self-criticism.

Changing up the workout splits and diet based on regular check-ins has been the most beneficial aspect of my sessions with Aswati. Consistent adherence to this practice is what helped me to see actual changes in strength and physique.

I’d like to use the term “gym-school”. With Aswati, it’s a systematic learn–apply–experiment approach, guided by constant motivation and support that ultimately gets you to your goals. I prefer this over the “I say, you do” trainer–client relation any day.

Thank you so much for the motivation and sincerity you put into training me. I honestly have nothing negative to say.

What We Learned Together

Srividya’s journey taught me, and everyone around her, that:

  • True transformation is never just physical.
  • Healing hormones, confidence, and self-worth is as important as any training plan.
  • When a woman learns to love herself, everyone around her feels that ripple of empowerment.
  • Progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about daring to start, even when you’re afraid.

Watching Srividya step into her strength has been one of the greatest honors of my career. She’s proof that no matter where you begin, you can learn to trust your body, love your reflection, and show up for yourself, exactly as you are.
